October fun!😊

Our Aistear role-play area was a Halloween fancy dress shop where we also got to practice our money handling skills! In construction we built haunted houses using recycled boxes.

We also played bingo using the Halloween words we learned In Gaeilge.

We loved learning about the Day of the Dead festival in Mexico this month. We compared and contrasted our Halloween traditions with their celebrations. In art we drew Day of the Dead skulls and painted them using watercolours.

In English we enjoyed reading the big book ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson. We practiced our retelling & sequencing skills using stick puppets! We also sequenced pictures from the story and assembled a witch collage.

On our last day before the midterm we dressed up in our costumes for Trick or Treat for Temple Street. Don’t we look scary?! 👻
